Which Ninja…dude?

According to Via Institute on Character, Personality is the sum total of our psychological makeup and how we uniquely express ourselves in the world. It is the pattern of emotional qualities, behaviors, thoughts, feelings, attitudes, and habits that make us who we are. But for many of us it can be difficult to describe our own personality.

A personality test can be a useful tool to help you articulate the characteristics about yourself. You might take a personality test when going through a life transition, such as a career change, marriage, divorce, or retirement to gain self-confidence and greater sense of self. Or maybe you are just interested in learning more about what makes you unique and special. Whatever the reason, personality tests can be a fun way to discover the qualities that make you - you!

Many have taken a Rorschach Inkblot or Myers-Brigg personality assessment.  How about the 4-animal personality test – Lion, Otter, Golden Retriever, or Beaver?

I am adding a new personality assessment “tool” into the fold – the Which Ninja…dude? Assessment. Are you ready?

Per Wikipedia.com, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles follow 4 antropomorphic turtle brothers – Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo – training in ninjitsu who fight evil in New York City.  Each has distinct traits and skills.

Your question – which one most represents YOU?

I will use the descriptions from medium.com:

Leonardo (Blue) – The idealized leader: dedicated and decisive, we usually think of this character as valiant, but they can also be the figurehead of a sinister unit. Personally, the Leos of the world tend to bore me a little with their righteousness, integrity, and bland nobility...

Raphael (Red) – Raphaels are dynamic visionaries or explosive rebels. They are bold, creative, and intense. They also tend to be funny in a dark sort of way and emotionally or spiritually troubled. A tortured genius, if you will.

Donatello (Purple) – Donatellos fly under the radar, but they are integral to the group’s success: they are intellectual, introspective, and possess unique talents traditionally been depicted as modest, “token” sidekicks

Michelangelo (Orange) – This jester-like character brings a much-needed dose of levity and humor. Michelangelo are fun, if a little unsophisticated (although their flippancy may mask deeper, more complex emotions). As the TNMT theme song states, a Michelangelo may indeed be a “party dude.”

For me, this is NOT as clear cut as the 4 Animal assessment, where I am clearly a Beaver.  I identify as a Leo – a dedicated and decisive leader that certainly can lean towards self-righteous.  Raphael’s tendency toward toubled and dark is a go, not so much on the bold and intense.  Michelangelo is a NO – levity and humor would not be good descriptors.

YOUR Questions – Which Ninja…dude?   Take the topic one step further – how would you characterize your friends and family?  Who would you select to round out YOUR group of antropomorphic turtle brothers to  fight evil in New York City?
